Had it been "too bad" that Kimiko's former romances had fallen through (mine too, for that matter)? Had it been "too bad" that the mission board had not allowed Kimiko to go to Okinawa right away? Had it been "too bad" that Kimiko had been unwell and not able to go ahead with her plans for school and work? Or had Mrs. Wakelin been right: for the Christian, there is no such thing as "too bad"?

The police were convinced that we had caused the injury due to some fault of our own and had found out the girl had died. They had decided we had made up our own story and bribed the mother to keep from telling the police the true facts. The mother had seen it all happen so knew it was not our fault. But when the police had questioned her, she had wanted to protect us thus initially would not give them the names of the people who had been driving the car. This had strengthened their suspicion that she had been bribed.

But at the leper colony, Mrs. Kawabata found healing, not just for the leprosy (now called Hodgekin's Disease), but also for a greater problem: the heart's sin. And she had prayed God would send a missionary to her village--Uken--to relay this greater cure to her family and relatives. Fully cured, Mrs. Kawabata, now back in Uken, had told me: "God answered my prayer. He sent you, Mr. Oshiro."

Please DO remember that my pleas for your prayer support is not just something to say. I am not being melodramatic in saying that it is apparent God wants this book written; Satan does not; he is opposing it by sending problems galore.
How good it is to know that we do not have to focus on the problems themselves (I am VERY adept at doing so) but can continue to cry out to God to keep our hearts set on Him, Who, in His sovereignty, will resolve all things for us. And what a great, big God we belong to!
