I am an MK (missionary kid) and mother of two grown children. Altho' my husband is Japanese (from Koriyama), and we speak Japanese at home, my education (elementary-university) has been in English, so most of my reading and writing is in English too. Last year, we moved to Okinawa and now live in the house my Dad built. I was born in Okinawa--it's been a long time, but I've come home...at last. 2025 August posts are publications put out by wildlife of a Saitama park in 2019.

RAVEN REVIEW issue 02 Ducks on Pond

 Raven Review, Issue 2, December 2018  -Leonard/Stealth(Sean)

Editor Leonard: We owe special thanks to Quasi (above, swimming in Iwatsuki Pond) for getting us started with the Special Issue, although he kept saying he didn’t need any recognition. Thanks to egret Caboose for transportation/distribution too. You guys are tops.

Iwatsuki Pond used to be known for their carp and turtles. But when we flew over it this month, we noticed new residents: ducks! We were used to seeing ducks on the other side of the park in the smaller, shallower pond with the fountain, not in this big, deep one with the bridge! One of these days, Einstein will have to teach me some duck honks so I can pay a welcome call to Iwatsuki Pond…after all, we birds of a feather must stick together!   -Sean
