I am an MK (missionary kid) and mother of two grown children. Altho' my husband is Japanese (from Koriyama), and we speak Japanese at home, my education (elementary-university) has been in English, so most of my reading and writing is in English too. Last year, we moved to Okinawa and now live in the house my Dad built. I was born in Okinawa--it's been a long time, but I've come home...at last. 2025 August posts are publications put out by wildlife of a Saitama park in 2019.

Snow in April

It's supposed to be spring, isn't it? April 17 & April 20, it snowed! I mean, the "sticking" kind--it was all white out! Well, I'll let you see.

A bird announcing spring with its unique chirping was heard to sing despite the contrary weather. I suppose, I sez to myself, there were birds performing the bidding of a Heavenly Father who desires a song no matter how cold it gets. Wouldn't it be nice if all of His children did that too: praised Him no matter how adverse circumstances became?

A chorus I sang as a little girl:
The birds upon the treetops sing their song;
The angels chant their chorus all day long;
The flowers in the garden blend their hue;
So why can't I, why can't you, praise Him too?
